LOD and LOQ Determination in HPLC

image

Determining the LOD and LOQ based on the comparison of standard deviation (SD) of the peak area and the slope of calibration curve.

LOD and LOQ definitions are as follows:

LOD:
The lowest analyte concentration of a sample which can still be detected by the analysis method but do not have to quantitate as an appropriate value.

Time constant in Chromatography

In chromatography software such as Chromgate, Chrom Perfect, and others, we will usually find a function time constant or smoothing or perhaps the filter parameters with different name on other software, especially on the menus or function associated with the detector.
By the time we run the method for chromatography data acquisition, these parameters will be sent (upload) by software to HPLC detector of interface box to activate the DSP (digital signal processing) and/or microprocessor or mathematical procedure in software with the parameters specified filters.
These parameters can be set also manually through the digital menu on detector used in HPLC system such as UV-Detector, RI-Detector, Fluorescence detector, and others.
